Cheats to help you through the rough spots.
Several cheat codes are starting to float around the 'net for DOOM 3, but not all cheats are created equal. Here's a list of codes we've personally tested and verified to work properly.
To use them, press [ctrl]+[alt]+[~] (the tilde key) simultaneously to bring down then console. Then type in the codes!
- developer 1 = Turn on Developer mode.
(Required for some of the other cheats to work.) - benchmark = Show game benchmarks.
- freeze x = Freeze game action for x seconds.
(Not very useful since you can't move around.) - gfxinfo = Show graphic card info
- god = Enter (or exit) god mode. You won't take any damage.
- noclip = Enter (or exit) noclip mode. You can walk through walls.
- com_showFPS 1 = display frames per second.
- give all = give all weapons and ammo.
- give ammo = gives full ammo to every weapon in your arsenal.
- give weapon_machinegun = get weapon (one clip of ammo).
- give weapon_shotgun = get weapon (one clip of ammo).
- give weapon_plasmagun = get weapon (one clip of ammo).
- give weapon_bfg = get weapon (one clip of ammo).
- give weapon_chainsaw = get weapon (one clip of ammo).
- give weapon_rocketlauncher = get weapon (one clip of ammo).
- quit = exit the game.
Reader-Submitted Cheats
- Avidemo = type recorddemo [name] (or blank and it will record demo000, demo001, etc.) record what you want, seems that PDA's can shutdown record demos so be aware of that After you record what you want,open the console again type avidemo
go get a drink , lunch or something it takes a while to build. It will be in the Doom III/demos/ folder. - Chris Siegel
FUN MESSAGE: Type "idkfa" in the console for a fun message.
Below are some cheats that people have sent in that we couldn't get to work. If you have any luck with these or know of the correct codes, drop us a line!
- doomhell = should skip to last level.
- notarget = should make you invisible to enemies.
- com_drawfps 1 = Incorrect. Correct command is listed above.
- give doom95 = Supposed to give you the original DOOM. Fat chance!
- give keys = Should give all access codes to doors.
- status = Should report game status?
