When your hair changes color, makeup will look a bit different. The skin changes texture, and the overall complementary colors that work for you will likely be different as well.
The products I'm using today are from the Look Fabulous Foreverrange, made specifically for mature skin. However, you can achieve the same results with any brand of product.

Applying makeup for gray hair
1. Prep and prime
Cleanse your skin with soap and water. Put on some SPF day cream. Let that sink in before starting your makeup application.
Start with a primer, which will help keep the makeup on all day. Squirt some on the back of your hand and apply it with your fingers. It will blur fine lines and open pores to make a smooth surface.

Apply a foundation or tinted moisturizer. You can use a foundation brush to apply it.

Apply concealer just in the areas that need a little brightening. It’s great for the inner corner of the eyes and underneath the eyes.
Also, apply to areas of hyperpigmentation.
Set with some translucent powder using a powder brush.

Put some fine primer on the eyes before applying eyeshadow.

While that dries, apply lip primer to the outer edges of the lips. This will stop the lipstick from seeping into any fine lines you might have.

2. Eyeshadow
Soft purples, plums, and lilacs are great colors to use with gray hair. Apply a light lilac shade to the eyes with an eyeshadow brush. The gentle shade creates a superb base.

Applying makeup for gray hair
Use a pewter gray shadow and apply it with a smaller eyeshadow brush to create a bit of definition in the socket area.
Place a cotton pad under the eye to catch any falling eyeshadow. Brush the shadow along the crease and to the outer corners of the eyes.

Blend out any harsh lines with the first brush.

Applying makeup for gray hair
Apply a soft purple eyeliner to the lash line.

Applying makeup for gray hair
Use an aubergine eyeshadow to set the soft purple. You can use it in place of eyeliner if you don’t want to use eyeliner.

Applying makeup for gray hair
Add some mascara to give a boost to the eyes.

3. Eyebrows
Put some highlighter on the highest part of the area just underneath the brows before doing the eyebrows. It will help the highlighter stand out. You can also add some to the cheekbones.

Applying makeup for gray hair
Fill in gaps in your eyebrows with the natural color of your hair before you went gray. Brush the eyebrows first and paint on the filler.

4. Blush
Applying some rosy blush to your cheeks will also help add some color and pop. A cream-to-powder is perfect for older skin. Sometimes a cream will sink in and a powder will sit on top, so this has the benefit of both.
Tap it on with your fingertips at the height of the cheekbone starting slightly out from the center. You don’t want to go too low because things tend to drop when we’re older, so we want to create a lift. Use a brush to blend using an upward sweeping motion.

5. Lipstick
With gray hair, you can go for a bolder color lipstick to add some life. Start with a plum berry-colored lip liner and some berry lipstick. Define the lips and then fill them in with the liner, too.
